U.S. stocks opened higher Wednesday, rebounding from weakness in global markets. ADP said the United States added 190,000 jobs in August. The number held steady compared to previous months but was below expectations. Second quarter productivity jumped 3.3%. The revised numbers show the U.S. economy was much more robust in the spring than previously thought. The productivity gain was the fastest since late 2013. A California Judge has ruled against Uber in a lawsuit filed by its drivers. The judge said the suit can go forward as a class action lawsuit. The decision means as many as 160,000 drivers in California could join in the lawsuit seeking mileage and tip reimbursement from Uber. Vera Bradley (VRA) stocks soared on better than expected quarterly results. The specialty handbag maker said a new mix of products and better marketing results in strong sales.
