High profile activist investor William Ackman has taken a $5.5 billion stake in Mondelez International (MDLZ). His Pershing Square Capital now owns 7.5% of the company’s shares. The Wall Street Journal says Ackman believes Mondelez can be run more efficiently or it should sell itself. Tesla (TSLA) trims its delivery outlook, sending the stock lower. The electric car maker said it had brought in slightly more revenue, and had less of a net loss than analysts expected. In addition, Tesla said the first deliveries of the Model X SUV are on track for September. FitBit (FIT) profit rose as sales surged. The maker of wearable fitness trackers reported its first earnings since going public. Weekly jobless claims are released today. The Bloomberg Comfort Index is reported and Wall Street awaits the first GOP debate tonight.
