Former MLB prospect Chase Childers died while saving swimmers from a rip current on Pawleys Island, off the coast of South Carolina. Childers, a one-time police officer and father of three, sprang to action when he was asked to help a group of people caught in the current, before his wife noticed that he himself did not make it back to shore.
