Dead real estate mogul Brandon Miller owed more than 0K for luxury furniture rental: suit
ShareShareShareShareShare

Real estate mogul Brandon Miller was slapped with a lawsuit for more than $100,000 over unpaid bills for luxury furniture rental at a posh Manhattan condo just months before his shocking death, according to court records.

Miller, who was a managing partner at REEC and married to popular fashion blogger Candice Miller, died last week at age 43 in the Hamptons.

No cause of death has been released.

The couple lived a lavish lifestyle with their two young daughters that included summering at their $3 million home in Southampton, as well as owning a $9 million apartment in Soho and another pricey pad on the Upper East Side.

In April, Brandon Miller was sued by high-end real estate design company Interior Marketing Group in Manhattan Supreme Court for $102,730.27, according to the complaint obtained by The Post.

The lawsuit claimed Miller stopped making monthly payments for the company’s furniture rentals and styling services in December 2022 at his residence at 737 Park Avenue.

Miller also refused to return the furniture, valued at $64,140.36, which included fixtures, lamps, desks, chairs, bed frames, pillows and artwork, according to the legal documents.

After multiple attempts to take back their furniture and requests for payment, the company filed its lawsuit on April 19.

The case remains listed as pending.

Lawyers representing Interior Marketing Group did not respond to requests for comment. Miller’s legal representation was not disclosed in court documents.

Miller was a managing partner at Real Estates Equities Corporation, which was founded by his late father, Michael Miller, in 1978 after a career spent developing shopping centers.

The Brown University graduate joined his father’s real estate company in 2004 as head of the acquisitions and finance department, according to the REEC website.

The company has purchased or developed more than 20 million square feet of real estate properties throughout the country, including numerous properties in New York City that include 985 Park Ave., 156 Prince St. and 1228 Madison.

The furniture rental battle is not the first legal headache Miller has faced in recent years.

A 2019 complaint alleged that Brandon Miller’s father – who died in 2016 – had told his assistant to forge his son’s signature on some loan documents related to a condo project.

The lawsuit was settled, according to court documents reported by The Real Deal.

In 2022, TD Bank sued Brandon Miller, his mother and his sister, alleging they made fraudulent transfers to keep the bank from collecting $2.1 million from his mother.

A third lawsuit filed last May claimed Brandon Miller owed more than $55,000 in docking fees at a Hamptons marina.

He died last Wednesday after he was reportedly hospitalized at a Southampton hospital days prior.

The Southampton Police Department did not respond to requests for comment.

Candice Miller – who started her fashion blog Mama + Tata with her sister, Jenna Crespi, in 2016 – is the co-founder of vintage-inspired clothing line Black Iris, and the top buyer for Southampton shop Tenet.

She has not commented since her husband’s death.
