General Motors (GM) 500 millionth vehicle has now rolled off the assembly line and it is increasing investments in plants across the U.S. this year to satisfy demand. Alan Batey, President of GM North America, says GM will be building its new 2016 Malibu at a plant in Kansas City and is spending $5.4-billion on plant investments nationwide. He also told TheStreet that thanks to technology innovations, the latest generation of the Chevy Volt will cost less than the previous model. He says in April, GM outperformed the industry in sales and gained market share and the company is expecting 2015 to be a good year.
