David Letterman says goodbye after 33 hilarious years on television. The late night talk show host steps down after more than 6000 shows and nearly 20-thousand guests on NBC and CBS. The end of the Letterman era began with a clip of the late President Gerald Ford’s famous quote during Watergate, “Our long national nightmare is over”. His successor, Stephen Colbert, takes over in September. Williams-Sonoma (WSM) had an outlook that was mostly below Wall Street expectations. Profits at the retailer fell 3%. The company says the West Coast Port shutdown earlier this year hurt results. It also faced increased competition from rivals Restoration Hardware and Crate and Barrel. Salesforce.com reported slightly better than expected quarterly earnings and revenue as sales in all of its cloud computing segments rose year over year. The company posted adjusted fiscal first quarter earnings per share of 16 cents up from 11 cents a year earlier. Revenue rose 23% to $1.51 billion. It’s shares jumped 4% in extended hours trading. Salesforece shares are up 5% since April 29th when reports that it may be a takeover target surfaced. Weekly Jobless Claims are expected to rise to 270-thousand from 264-thousand the prior week. Existing Home Sales may show further improvement from March and the Philly Fed Manufacturing Data is Released.
