BNSF Railway, owned by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, has had an oil train derailment in North Dakota. The train derailed near Heimdal, North Dakota and several cars caught fire. Area residents were evacuated. No one was injured. The latest accident comes just days after Buffett told TheStreet that Berkshire Hathaway’s BNSF planned to increase spending on rail safety this year, after the federal government announced new rules for oil trains. The derailment comes just days after the National Transportation Safety Board found fault with BNSF over a fiery crash in Casselton, North Dakota that occurred in late 2013.
