Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his nightly address that the country’s forces continue to battle Russian troops in the east, where there is fierce fighting for the mining town of Soledar, which Russia claims to have taken. Although it holds little intrinsic value, the town lies around six miles north of Bakhmut, a strategic city that Russian forces are aiming to surround.
