Demonstrators nationwide commemorated the 76th anniversary of the Nakba. The Nakba means catastrophe in Arabic and refers to the forced removal of about 750,000 Palestinians from their homes in preparation for the founding of Israel in 1948. This year, the Nakba anniversary comes amid Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza.
