This series is set ten years prior to the original series, which puts it in the prime timeline before JJ Abrams’ Trek films.
Composer Jeff Russo wrote a new theme song and recorded it with a 60-piece orchestra.
The storylines from previous Star Trek series were told from the point of view of the captain. For Discovery, the audience will be old through Michael Burnham, the first officer of the U.S.S. Shenzhou.
