CAROLINE WOODS: Ferrari is gearing up for the electric era with its first all-electric vehicle – codenamed the Ferrari Elettrica.
Set to debut in spring 2026, the four-door, four-seat model will deliver around 1,000 horsepower and launch from zero to sixty in under 2.5 seconds.
Unlike many rivals, Ferrari is developing all of its EV technology in-house – from the high-voltage battery packs to the e-axles and inverters – at a new “e-building” facility in Maranello, Italy.
The unveiling will unfold in three phases. The design is locked in – a four-door model with a 116.5-inch wheelbase and a weight just under 5,100 pounds. Ferrari confirmed it’s not a supercar and will be even more practical than its SUV.
Overall, Ferrari is taking a more measured approach to electrification. By 2030, its lineup will be roughly 40 percent gas, 40 percent hybrid, and 20 percent electric, with another EV expected before the end of the decade.
Ferrari calls it a new chapter – proving that silence can still sound like speed.
