CAROLINE WOODS: One country wants to ban social media for kids – should the U.S. follow suit?
Denmark says enough is enough. It’s Prime Minister proposing new rules that block kids under 15 from social media entirely – unless parents give the OK starting at age 13.
She warns social media is “stealing our children’s childhood,” and says “we’ve let a monster loose.”
The PM points to rising anxiety, depression, and attention issues – and says 60% of boys aged 11 to 19 don’t see a single friend in person during the week.
Denmark’s already banned phones in primary schools and isn’t alone. Norway is considering a similar under-15 social media ban, and Australia passed one for kids under 16 last year – with hefty fines for tech companies that don’t comply.
