While Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf was testifying on Capitol Hill this week, a very different gathering across town was also discussing the state of the banking and finance industry — but in a very different way. Stumpf’s week getting lambasted by Congress for the company’s retail banking scandal coincided with the annual meeting of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA).
