Records are being broken on Wall Street and not just in the markets but also the record-shattering cold. But what does that mean for the U.S. dollar? Paul Christopher is the co-Head of Real Asset Strategy, Wells Fargo Investment Institute (WFC) and says ‘strong winter effects may soften U.S. data and give the dollar a chance to pull back in the coming weeks’ including weakness in retail and housing. Overall though, Christopher expects the greenback to continue to trend higher. Wells Fargo Investment Institute has $1.6 trillion AUM and is overweight in consumer discretionary, information technology, industrials and underweight in consumer staples, utilities.
