245,000 pounds of pasta is being recalled over a deadly listeria outbreak.

CAROLINE WOODS: Listen up pasta lovers – there’s a major recall you need to know about.
Thousands of ready-to-eat pasta products – sold at big-name retailers like Walmart, Kroger, and Trader Joe’s – are being pulled from shelves amid a deadly listeria outbreak.
The FDA says the recall traces back to pre-cooked pasta made by Nate’s Fine Foods – which tested positive for the outbreak strain of listeria. The company first recalled nearly 250-thousand pounds of pasta in late September, but that list has since grown.
So far, the outbreak has hit 15 states, caused at least 20 people to become sick, and left four dead.
The recalled pastas have shown up in dozens of ready-to-eat meals – from fettuccine Alfredo and shrimp scampi to deli pasta salads. Check the FDA’s website for the full list.
Both the FDA and CDC say don’t eat them – return the products for a refund or toss them out.
Health officials say you should also clean and sanitize any surfaces that touched the recalled food.The CDC warns listeria can cause serious illness – especially for pregnant women, newborns, and older adults.
