The UK’s Vodafone says it has agreed to pay $10 billion dollars for Grupo Ono in a move to make it Spain’s second-largest integrated telecommunications company. The move is the latest in a string of acquisitions to take Vodafone from a wireless service provider to a telecom company that offers a full menu of offerings. The takeover is Vodafone’s first since the $130 billion dollar sale of its stake in Verizon Wireless which closed in February. The Deal’s Laura Board reports from London.
