American Eagle gold coin sales for January total 62,500, the U.S. Mint says. Former U.S. Mint Director Ed Moy tells TheStreet’s Joe Deaux this total, the highest since April 2013, is a nice uptick from previous months, but still below the monthly average reached when the U.S. Mint was posting record sales. Moy says we can expect physical gold purchases in India and China to add support to the global price of the yellow metal as gold will remain in a tight trading range for 2014.
