Suno is capping Pro downloads at 20 songs per month on September 3, so MiniMax Music3 could not have arrived at a better time. I installed this new open-weight AI music model locally, tested it against some of my favorite Suno songs, and found genuinely strong lyrics, pronunciation, and surprisingly usable quality. Suno V5 still wins on clarity, instrumentation, and style control—but Music3 is the best open-weight music generator I have tested, and it can even run on an 8GB CUDA card with slower offloading. This is not a Suno killer; it is unlimited local AI music becoming good enough to matter.
