Trump says vandals slashed the Reflecting Pool, but previously said it couldn’t be cut with a knife

President Donald Trump has blamed vandals “with some form of knife or blade” for the damage to the Reflecting Pool. But in May, the president said the material used in his $14 million renovation of the pool would be so strong, “if you had a knife, you can’t even cut it.”
