President Trump slammed AT&T on Monday after technical issues interrupted his scheduled conference call with American faith leaders.
Trump called on âthe Boss of AT&T, whoever that may beâ to get involved and address the situation, saying there were âtens of thousands of people on the lineâ at the time of the glitch.
âIâm doing a major Conference Call with Faith Leaders from all over the Country, and AT&T is totally unable to make their equipment work properly,â Trump wrote in a Truth Social post. âThis is the second time itâs happened.â
AT&T is currently led by CEO John Stankey. The companyâs shares rose 3% in Monday trading, but had turned slightly negative after-hours following Trumpâs criticism.
In a second post, Trump apologized to faith leaders âfor the long waitâ as he tried to connect to the call.
âAT&T ought to get its act together,â Trump wrote. âPlease pass along the word to the tens of thousands of people who are there. We may have to reschedule the call, but weâll use another carrier the next time. AT&T obviously doesnât know what theyâre doing!â
Shortly after Trumpâs posts, AT&T said it had âreached out to the White House and (is) working to quickly understand and assess the situation.â

Trump had previously clashed with AT&T during his first term in office. At the time, the telecom giant owned CNN.
The current spat surfaced just days after the Trump family unveiled plans to launch its own branded âTrump Mobileâ wireless service and a $499 smartphone.
