2014 was a big year for films. Here are the top 10 films at the North American box office from this year. Starting at number 10…’Big Hero 6.’ This animated flick made $201.5 million. At number 9…’The Amazing Spider-Man 2.’ The super hero movie made some serious money – $202.9 million, to be exact. Coming in at number 8…’Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.’ This movie did pretty well for a sequel – bringing in $208.6 million. Number 7 on the list is ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.’ This is another sequel that did well, with $233.9 million. At number 6, ‘Maleficent.’ This movie, starring Angelina Jolie brought in $241.4 million. And now to number 5 on the list. ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction.’ This Michael Bay film made $245.4 million. Coming in at number 4, ‘The Lego Movie.’ The movie, starring Will Arnett, raked in $257.8 million. At number 3, ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier.’ This sequel was also successful, making $259.8 million. Number 2 on the list, ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1′ This is the third installment of the Hunger Games movies. It brought in $308.9 million this year. And what you’ve been waiting for…the top grossing film in the box office this year…’Guardians of the Galaxy.’ Making a whopping $332.9 million.
