Three people were injured by a man wielding a machete on a subway platform at New York City’s Grand Central Station. New York City Police commissioner Jessica Tisch says officers tried several times to get the man to drop the weapon before firing shots at the perpetrator. The victims were taken to hospital with injuries that were not deemed life threatening.
