Yahoo! is an asset that only works for Verizon so don’t expect anybody else to step up if that deal gets shaky, says TheStreet’s Jim Cramer. Verizon’s general counsel, Craig Silliman, declared Thursday that his company has a “reasonable basis” to think the breach of more than 500 million Yahoo! email accounts, disclosed in late September, has a “material impact” on Verizon’s pending $4.8 billion acquisition of Yahoo!. That leaves open the possibility that Verizon could walk away from the deal, at least if Verizon’s stance held up in court.
