When TheStreet took to New York Comic Con’s Artist Alley to find out which presidential candidate had the attention of American nerd culture, the results were overwhelmingly one-sided. Though Bernie Sanders is trailing a bit in the polls It was immediately clear that the hearts and minds belong to the Junior Senator from Vermont. Half of the Comic Con demographic is over 40 but the vast majority of the ‘cosplay’ (costume role play) community is Millennial. The major deciding factor for young voters in this election seems to be social issues and Mr. Sanders has cornered the youth market. Though most were concerned with his chances in Tuesday’s debate, and in general, optimism was palpable on the floor of the Javits Center in Manhattan.
