President Barack Obama will deliver his seventh State of the Union speech Tuesday at 9pm eastern. This is his first State of the Union in front of a Republican controlled Congress. The President is expected to propose ways to bolster the middle class via tax breaks and bumping up wages. Amid the hostility between both political parties, there are some issues that Republicans actually agree with President Obama on, like free trade. TheStreet’s Scott Gamm speaks with Colby Itkowitz, a national reporter with The Washington Post for a preview of Tuesday’s speech and how the mood of this year’s State of the Union differs from ones in the past.
