The Federal Reserve made a key change to its statement on Wednesday, which was interpreted as an abrupt nod to inflation.
The Fed said inflation measures were running “close to 2 percent” vs. “below 2 percent” in its March statement. The Fed’s inflation target is 2%.
This language may lock in a fourth rate hike this year, according to Danielle DiMartino Booth, author of Fed Up.
