As the war in Ukraine keeps putting pressure on the nickel-reliant EV market, Tesla has already been scouring for the metal, signing pacts with several nickel suppliers since 2021 according to Bloomberg sources. They also spoke about how President Biden is poised to invoke Cold War powers to encourage domestic production of critical minerals for EVs.
