After five years of development, Team FOLON has released its much anticipated “DLC-sized” mod for Fallout 4: Fallout London.
In this behemoth of a mod, players can explore post-nuclear apocalypse London, complete with double decker busses and irradiated football hooligans.
Team FOLON, led by Dean “Prilladog” Carter, is a team of over 100 hobbyists. The mod is available for free to download on GoG. While not part of Bethesda, Team FOLON’s creation is epic in scale, rivaling the size of Fallout 4 itself.
In addition to its development team, Fallout London boasts a star-studded voice cast. It includes Neil Newbon, who won The Game Award for best performance for his portrayal of Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3. Meanwhile, John Bercow, former Speaker of the House of Commons from 2009 to 2019, lends his voice to the mod’s robotic Speaker of the House.

Originally, the mod was supposed to launch on April 23 (Saint George’s Day). However, Bethesda’s next-gen update for Fallout 4 delayed Fallout London’s release until July 25, 2024.
Team FOLON’s ambitious undertaking seeks to match the franchise’s tone in a brand new setting across the pond. In fact, this might be the only opportunity to see Fallout outside of its standard American context for the foreseeable future. While Fallout has successfully jumped to a new medium, Todd Howard ruled out taking the series to locations outside of the U.S. in an interview in April 2024.
While gaming companies have begun embracing more UGC content, monetization remains an issue. For more recent titles, their built-in creative tools typically include a monetization program — for example, see Roblox or Fortnite. Other titles reward creators through third-party mod platforms.
However, Bethesda does not have a monetization program built into its modding system. Fallout London is a testament to the passion of fans, regardless of the monetary incentives.
