Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ on track to amass B in sales

Taylor Swift’s sought-after “Eras Tour” is on track to amass a record-breaking $1 billion in sales, making it the highest-grossing tour ever.

Exactly how much the 33-year-old “Shake It Off” singer will take home is unclear, though Swift’s 106-stop tour has become notorious for its highly-coveted, costly tickets, which have mega-fans dishing out as much as five figures to see Swift’s 44-song setlist live.

As of last week, earnings from the “Eras Tour” already surpassed Bruce Springsteen, Harry Styles and Elton John’s 2023 tours, according to data from Pollstar — and Swift has yet to even embark on her international dates.

Besides her original 52 US dates, which end in August, Swift recently announced additional international stops that will have her playing 54 shows across Europe, South America, Asia and Australia. More dates could also be added, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Pollstar’s figures show that the “Eras Tour” has grossed $300.8 million thus far, with the average ticket running concertgoers $253. Nearly 54,000 tickets are sold per show, and Swift has sold a whopping more than 1 million tickets thus far after just 22 stops.

Currently, Swift’s last show is set to take place in London on Aug. 17, 2024.

Should the “Eras Tour” reach the $1 billion milestone by then, it will surpass the $887 million in earnings raked in by Elton John’s Farewell Yellowbrick Road tour that has run from 2018 through 2023 — the current highest-growing tour of all time.

John knocked Ed Sheeran out of the No. 1 spot, after Sheeran’s Divide Tour brought in $776 million during its run from 2017 to 2019.

Pollstar estimated that Swift could even surpass $1 billion during her six-show run in Singapore, set to take place in March 2024.

Concert executives told The Journal that the “Eras Tour” could gross an additional $2 million-plus through merchandise sold at each stop.

Swift sells $75 hoodies, $55 long-sleeve shirts and $45 T-shirts at each show.

The Journal reported that fans are spending about $50 to $75 each, after accounting for concertgoers who don’t buy any merch.

Music executives and fans alike have been speculating how much Swift’s tour has been making since tickets were released on Ticketmaster in November.

A frenzy of customers rushed to the platform as soon as tickets dropped, causing a technical fiasco that inflated prices to the point where $700 seats were considered “cheap” and made Ticketmaster cancel its general public ticket sale for the tour in a shock move.

The cheapest seats The Post could find for the siren’s next “Eras Tour” stop — a two-night residency in Kansas City — was $1,353 before fees on Seat Geek.

Despite the tour’s evident financial success, Swift is not reporting her nightly grosses to Billboard Boxscore, which tracks such data, according to The Journal.

The move is unusual in the music industry, though Billboard’s senior director of live music and touring, Dave Brooks, told the outlet that Swift is planning to report those figures later.

The “Eras Tour” has no doubt set new expectations for blockbuster tours, including for Beyoncé and Madonna’s respective tours that are going on right now.

Per-show concert grosses “are higher than they’ve ever been,” Brooks told The Journal.

Swift currently occupies the No. 34 spot overall on the “America’s Richest Self-Made Women” list, with wealthy companies, including No. 13 Oprah Winfrey ($2.5 billion), and No. 1 seed Diane Hendricks ($15 billion) of ABC Supply, the largest wholesale distributor of roofing materials in the US.

According to the Forbes list, Swift is the second richest self-made woman in music, with an estimated net worth of $740 million — a figure that can only grow as she continues her “Eras Tour.”
