Synchronoss Technologies (SNCR) surged more than 15% on reports the software maker is working on a possible sale which could value the company at more than $2 billion. Intel (INTC) was the worst performer on the Dow again on Wednesday. The tech giant’s shares have deflated since the company announced its acquisition of Altera (ALTR) earlier this week. Stocks ended the day with modest gains, boosted by a sunny outlook from the Federal Reserve’s Beige Book, a collection of anecdotes from its 12 districts. The Fed said the economy was growing at a modest to moderate pace. Consumer spending increased in 10 of the 12 districts.
