U.S. stocks rallied on Wall Street despite jitters about Greece at Tuesday’s close. The Dow Jones Industrial gained triple digits, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq rose better than 1%. Crude futures fell to settle just at just about $50 a barrel. Halliburton (HAL) is laying off up to 8% of its workforce. The company said the job cuts were a result of tumbling energy prices and had nothing to do with its pending acquisition of Baker Hughes (BHI), whose shares also closed lower. Apple (AAPL) made several headlines including becoming the first American company to close with a market cap above $700 billion. Apple is partnering with First Solar (FSLR) to build a renewable energy farm. Shares of First Solar spiked on the news.
