Stocks rebounded to begin the month of May, recovering from a steep selloff on Thursday. Earnings are front and center again on Friday as they have been for the week. Visa (V) slid despite beating expectations on its top and bottom line. Currency exchange was a major hurdle over the quarter, cutting into growth by 2.5%. LinkedIn (LNKD) lost around one-fifth of its value by market open after lowering its outlook for the year. DreamWorks (DWA) tumbled after reporting a wider-than-expected quarterly loss. Gilead Sciences (GILD) soared past profit estimates, earning $2.94 a share, 62 cents above expectations.
