An NBC News investigation found at least 277 people since 2000 have been killed in accidents in which a shooter believed a gun was unloaded because the magazine was dislodged or removed. A simple technology to prevent those incidents has been available for a century, but gunmakers have opposed it. NBC News’ Maggie Vespa reports.
