Keep an eye on shares of Netflix (NFLX) in Thursday’s trading session. The stock is taking off despite a big earnings miss. The video streaming company noted that currency had a big negative impact on its quarterly financial results. It posted a profit significantly below analysts’ expectations. Meanwhile, revenue matched Wall Street estimates. Netflix said it added 4.9 million new members globally. Domestically, it added 2.3 million subscribers, higher compared to the 1.8 million additional members analysts were expecting. Shares of Netflix soared more than 13% to $538.72 in after-hours action on Wednesday. TheStreet’s Kurumi Fukushima reports in New York.
