Cyber Monday was one for the record books. Shoppers spent heavily with digital firm Adobe (ADBE) estimating sales at $2.98 billion, a record and up 12% from the previous year. More sales were driven by mobile phones than ever before, with Walmart.com (WMT) reporting 70% of its online traffic was from smartphones and tablets. Drug benefit manager Express Scripts (ESRX) says it will work with a drug compounder for patients to receive a lower priced alternative to the expensive anti-parasitic drug Daraprim, whose price jumped more than 50-fold earlier this year and brought heavy criticism to the company’s CEO. Express Scripts says it will offer the drug for $1 versus the $750 that Turing Pharmaceuticals is charging. Anadarko Petroleum (APC) was ordered to pay almost $160 million for its role as part-owner of the doomed Gulf of Mexico well that in 2010 caused the biggest offshore oil spill in U.S. history. November auto sales are out today and could show that U.S. automakers are on track to sell a record number of vehicles this year.
