The new year is a good time to give your financial situation a makeover, according to Susan Axelrod, executive vice president of regulatory operations at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Axelrod reveals her top tips for improving your finances in 2015, including how to avoid getting into debt and how to get out of it. She stresses that it’s important to make sure you have a rainy day fund set aside in case of any unexpected financial hits you may have to take and details how you can start small and grow that fund over time. Plus, with growing cyber security threats, Axelrod explains preventative measures you can take to ward off hackers, data breaches and anyone attempting to gain access to your personal information.
