European stocks rose on Monday as March gains in euro-area economic sentiment and the business climate indicator added to confidence that the recovery is gathering pace. In London, insurance claims processor Quindell jumped on plans to sell its professional services division to Australian law firm Slater and Gordon Ltd. as it narrows its focus to insurance-related technology and takes a more cautious accounting approach. Dufry rose in Zurich as investors welcomed an agreement to acquire Italian competitor World Duty Free to form a retail giant with nearly a quarter of the global airport retail market. Novartis also rose in Zurich after announcing a multi-year cancer immunotherapy research and development alliance with Aduro Biotech.
