A group of environmental activists gathered in New York City on the sidelines of the Sohn Investment Conference to protest hedge fund investments in non-renewable energy. The group, known as The Hedge Clippers, was protesting that the hedge fund investors who are in attendance at the conference, which is a fundraiser for brain cancer research, are sometimes investors in fossil fuels which they say can lead to cancer. The group said hedge fund managers Paul Singer, Seth Klarman, David Einhorn and Stanley Druckenmiller have invested in non-renewable energy firms.
