The Harford County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on the Rachel Morin case in Bel Air on Thursday, including a suspect description after DNA was found at the scene.The suspect has not yet been identified, but DNA analysis came up with a match.”That DNA was analyzed by the Maryland State Police and ran through the national (Combined DNA Index System) system. This DNA evidence has come back as a match tied to a home invasion and an assault of a young girl in Los Angeles in March,” Col. Based on the video, police believe the suspect is about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, around 160 pounds, in his early-to-mid 20s and of Hispanic descent.”We know nothing about him, other than he was in L.A. and committed that crime in March, and was here in August, and we believe him to be the murderer of Rachel Morin,” Davis said.He said police believe the suspect acted alone, and they have no reason to believe he knew Morin, meaning the killing could have been a random act of violence.The information is a big step forward in the case, but residents are still shaken.”It’s mind blowing. It’s so close to home. I lived in the city for a long time, so I’m used to watching my surroundings and whatnot. But up here, you’re walking the trail.
