Pew Research released the findings of their survey on the impact of technology in the workplace and concluded that the Internet is helping workers be more productive, allowing them more flexible hours, and also increasing the number of hours people are working. Email and Internet remained the most important tech tools for workers ability to perform their jobs. Surprisingly, landlines outranked cellphones in terms of workplace importance for both office based and non-office based workers. Twice as many men as women voted cellphones as ‘very important’ and nearly twice as many workers earning over $50,000 voted cellphones as ‘very important’ than those earning less than $50,000.
