GPT-5.5 is here, and I tested it across research, coding, Codex, GPT Image 2 asset workflows, game creation, long prompts, and comparisons against GPT-5.4 and Claude Opus 4.7. It is fast, extremely capable, and probably my new daily driver, but the price jump and remaining rough edges make the “economy mover” framing more complicated than it sounds.
