Null Games announced today that it is working with indie developer Yeah Us! Games on a new game: A cartoonish extreme sports simulator called Streetdog BMX. As the name suggests, players ride BMX bikes around six locations, performing increasingly trickier combos. The game launches for console and PC sometime next year.
According to Null Games, players can customize their bikes and their avatars, and they can perform a number of tricks around the maps, which have hidden spots and challenges. There are 180 challenges in total, but players can also invent new lines and perform their own combos in the name of creativity.
Adam Hunt, lead designer at Yeah Us! Games, said of the new title: ““Fans of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Dave Mirra BMX will be right at home in Streetdog BMX. We aimed to make something fun and challenging that really captures the excitement and freedom of riding a BMX bike – only without the risk of bodily harm!”
Null Games launched earlier this year, founded by Chris Wanstrath, formerly of Github. At the time, Wanstrath said the studio’s goal was to foster a developer-friendly environment for indie creatives. The launch game at the time was hockey title Tape to Tape.
