SharkNinja is recalling nearly 2 million of its pressure cookers after more than 100 customers reported serious burn injuries from hot food spilling out.
The lid on the SharkNinja Foodi OP300 Series Multi-Function Pressure Cookers can be opened during use, allowing hot food to escape and injure users, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a recall notice on Thursday.
More than 50 customers have reported second- or third-degree burns to the face or body as a result of the faulty pressure cookers, according to the CPSC. SharkNinja is facing 26 lawsuits related to the injuries.
“The safety of our customers is a top priority for SharkNinja,” the company told The Post in a statement.
The pressure cookers were sold across Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, Amazon and Target stores nationwide, as well as online, from January 19 through March 2025 for about $200.
Affected model numbers include OP300, OP301, OP301A, OP302, OP302BRN, OP302HCN, OP302HAQ, OP302HW, OP302HB, OP305, OP305CO and OP350CO, which can be seen in a label on the side of the cooker.
The recall includes 1.8 million pressure cookers sold in the US, as well as approximately 180,000 sold in Canada.
Customers should immediately stop using the pressure cooker function on the appliance and contact SharkNinja for a free replacement lid, according to the CPSC.
They should contact the company online instead of trying to return the product to the store where it was purchased.
The product’s other functions, like air frying, are safe to use in the meantime, the recall notice said.
Shares in SharkNinja jumped 3.5% by approximately 9:50 a.m. ET on Friday, after dropping 1.3% the day before.
