Alabama football coach Nick Saban is disciplined, organized and incredibly demanding. Nevertheless, it’s his ability to attract talent that really elevates him above his peers, said Monte Burke, author of Saban. ‘He walks into these recruits’ living rooms and reels in the mom, reels in the dad and reels in the recruit,’ said Burke. ‘College football really is all about your player talent base.’ Monte Burke is a staff writer at Forbes magazine and has also written for The New York Times, Outside, Men’s Journal, Town & Country and Garden & Gun. Nick Saban has been the head football coach of the University of Alabama since the 2007 season. Saban previously served as head coach of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, as well as Louisiana State University, Michigan State University, and the University of Toledo. Saban led the LSU Tigers to the BCS National Championship in 2003 and the Alabama Crimson Tide to BCS and AP national championships in the 2009, 2011 and 2012 seasons, making him the first coach in college football history to win a national championship with two different Bowl eligible schools since the AP Poll started in 1936.
