Epson America is upending the way Americans fill and refill their printers with ink, said the company’s CEO John Lang. ‘We are going to sell you a printer that basically comes with two years of ink,’ said Lang. ‘It has large permanent ink-tanks on the side of it and can be refilled.’ Epson has dubbed the new line the ‘EcoTank’ and consumers will be able to buy separate bottles of ink when they need to refill the tanks. The individual refill bottles will likely retail for around $13, while a set that will carry a user for another two years will cost around $52. He said the package is the equivalent of 20 sets of ink cartridges which would sell for around $40 each. ‘It’s a great value for the customer. It’s a great convenience for the customer,’ said Lang. ‘No more running out of ink.’
