Season three of Netflix’s (NFLX) ‘Orange is the New Black’ is going to be released on June 12th for millions of Netflix subscribers to binge watch their favorite cast of inmates. Shows like ‘Orange is the New Black’, ‘House of Cards’, ‘Daredevil’, ‘Bloodline’, and the rights to older shows like ‘Degrassi’, are all helping keep Netflix’s 62 million subscribers watching while also pulling in new customers both national and internationally. On Monday, Netflix also released that they will produce and release Brad Pitt’s new film, ‘War Machine’. But paying $30 million for Pitt’s political satire is chump change to the streaming giant’s nearly $2.5 billion in cash. Even still, Netflix has been buying up tons of rights and producing mountains of content while simultaneously funding the expansion of their subscription base in both the US and abroad in an effort to reach two-hundred countries by 2017. Whalen MacHale reports for TheStreet from New York.
