Tonight: New details about a terrifying midair attack that unfolded on a flight to Tel Aviv. Passengers aboard a Flydubai flight reportedly rushed toward the cockpit after the co-pilot allegedly stabbed the pilot and attempted to crash the plane. In the aftermath, a critical question emerges: How did the co-pilot manage to bring a potentially forbidden weapon, reportedly a knife, through airport security? NBC News’ Matt Bradley and Tom Costello report on the shocking incident, the passengers who intervened, and the security questions now demanding answers. Plus, New York Governor Kathy Hochul says she spoke with Cornell University’s president, who agreed to bring in outside counsel. It comes as NBC News has obtained the six-page statement the female student gave to Cornell police in 2024. And in “Good News Tonight” Georgia mom Alex Henson was surprised at a local high school football game when every player presented her with a flower and a hug. The mom of two is fighting cancer, and said the gesture made her feel “so much love.”
