Tonight: Authorities tonight are crediting a father of two who happened to be driving by the school on his lunch break when he heard gun shots, along with a teacher who threw a cell phone and tackled the gunman, for saving lives. Plus, Katie Zacharia had a rocky five days as White House Press Secretary with a single briefing that was widely panned followed by questions over her legal credentials. Now she is out from one of the highest profile posts of the Trump administration. And Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred to a new federal prison in Pennsylvania. The disgraced music mogul was moved just weeks after reports that he was living like a VIP behind bars. NBC News’ Chloe Melas reports on what the move could mean for his 50-month sentence. Also, it may be a giant leap forward in making flying cars a reality, or a fantastic publicity stunt. Elon Musk is showing off a new Tesla Roadster that can fly. And in “Good News Tonight” There are few foods more classically American than the hamburger. Documentarian and chef George Motz has devoted most of his career to chronicling the burger, and now he’s working on perfecting his recipes at his New York City restaurant, Hamburger America. NBC News’ Tom Llamas reports.
