NASDAQ’s Bob McCooey tells TheStreet’s Debra Borchardt that SXSW was the perfect place to launch its new private marketplace. With the JOBS act, many companies are opting to stay private because they can have up to 2,000 private shareholders. NASDAQ provides a place for these companies to exchange shares. NASDAQ also uses SXSW as a place to find potential companies to list at the exchange and keep up with companies that are already listed on the exchange.
