Spiro Agnew joined “Meet the Press”on August 27, 1972 to discuss the Nixon administration’s handling of the Vietnam War. Agnew served as vice president during the Nixon administration, from 1969 until his resignation in 1973. He criticized the media’s coverage of the war and accused reporters of trying to “bear out [their] own conclusions.” Agnew also said he didn’t think the administration fulfilled its campaign promises except for tackling inflation.
